Sun-Dried Tomato Hummus Pasta

This sun-dried tomato hummus pasta may sound a little farfetched, but the creamy dip works super well as a sauce for pasta of all shapes and sizes. Extra creamy, full of zip and zing, you'll make this one time and time again!


Before you start

Food Processor | Frying pan | Saucepan with boiling water


For the hummus

  • 1 x 400g tin chickpeas
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 5 sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1⁄2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp sun-dried tomato oil from the jar

For the pasta

  • 150g tagliatelle per person
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Oil
  • Basil
  • 5 sun-dried tomatoes


  1. 1.

    Make the hummus | Drain the chickpeas | Peel the garlic | Put all the ingredients into the food processor | Whizz to a smooth paste

    Make the pasta | Cook the pasta in boiling water to packet instructions | Drain the pasta but keep some of the water | Chop the onion and garlic and fry in a pan with some olive oil | Throw in some chopped sun-dried tomatoes | Add your cooked pasta and spoon in your hummus with some of that pasta water for creaminess

    To serve | Plate up your pasta, top with some toasted pine nuts and some basil
